One of the largest surf breaks in the world is recorded pure, just for you. From the rocky beach point break on the cover, the very location of the TASCAM recorder placed to capture this, the distant thunderous waves mix with great up-close rock splashes.

One of the largest surf breaks in the world is recorded pure, just for you. From the rocky beach point break on the cover, the very location of the TASCAM recorder placed to capture this, the distant thunderous waves mix with great up-close rock splashes.

This beautiful ocean Field Recording was captured in its pure binaural stereo natural element and with no additional sounds, only minimal EQ processing and minor noise edits. This 2nd release under the World of Water banner is from the famous Northern California beach Mavericks, in San Mateo, just South of San Francisco and north of Santa Cruz. Using an industry leading recording device from TASCAM, the premiere technology company used for capturing the entire Dr. White's Noise series, and with the creation of this water-only series of sound releases from global water sources, we produce these beautiful soundbeds available for any of the many uses you may have, from cocktail parties, studying or sleeping, to mediation, setting the mood for romantic evenings, and beyond! It has been determined that water is a soothing, cleansing and calming resource when it is moving around; the sounds of which are our main resource to mine out in the wild world and bring back for mastering and upload to the Intercircuit, to meld with you out there in the rest of the world. Enjoy the thunderous nature of this distant surf break, where the actual surfing area is around 200 yards away from the recorder (you can see the surf break in the way back center of the photo by all those dangerous but awesome rocks). This sound dynamic is deep field and multi-layered in effect of the frequency spectrum, yet is from the same single recording and spot, providing a lessening of the impact of the huge wave energy - which actually makes this a better recording. The placement of the recording unit, which is visible in the cover photo if you look closely again (along with the Crypticon's Late Great Wingman, Bane in spirit form eternally now), was strategically selected to capture the reflecting power in the underlying dynamics of these long cresting waves. The recording, audio master, photo and layout were done by Alan Karalian of #Crypticon Records.

Stay tuned for more excellent watery environments from the continuing Crypticon "World of Water" Series...
